The Australian orchards predominately grow Nonpareil, Carmel and Price varieties and are located in the prime growing regions of Sunraysia and the Riverina. The farms are equipped with state-of-the-art irrigation infrastructure and incorporate high levels of mechanisation. These precision farming practices support Olam’s goal of producing high-quality almonds with an optimal environmental footprint and to deliver sustainability impact at scale.

Processing: Olam’s processing plant located near Carwarp in Northern Victoria is one of the world’s largest and was built to accommodate the company’s entire production in Australia. The BRC, Halal & Kosher accredited facility is 12,000 square metres and integrates hulling, shelling, and packing processes.

Having these processes under one roof ensures a single point of quality control, traceability, and safety from orchard to customer. The processing plant utilises the latest optical, laser and x-ray sorters and has over 12,000 pallets spaces of climate-controlled storage onsite to ensure quality and consistency.
